"I'm trained as an illustrator and painter, but have been doing other types of design work for many years. Studio Artist has gotten me back into the world of drawing and painting.

I design most of my own brushes, and I tend to use the layers function extensively. I'm trying to duplicate real world painting where I would apply a variety of washes and glazes to create a feeling of depth.

This image is from another New York tradition. Every Labor Day we have a huge drag festival called WigStock. This painting is derived from one of the many drag queen pictures I've taken over the years."
