18 "I started using Studio Artist about a year ago after working with Painter for several years. My initial goal was to digitally recreate the dynamic look, realistic textures and visual complexity of real paint on canvas. These examples are painted in a conventional fashion without using any of the autopaint or processing functions built into Studio Artist. I destroy the underlying source image by offsetting large areas of color (analogous to underpainting) with special brushes. Complexity and texture are built up in a traditional fashion stroke by stroke. I often employ texture energy in a single layer and subtly blend it back into the finished composition. Final output is to large format IRIS giclee prints. I was a graphic designer, specializing in print, working in Tampa, Florida. I dont know what I am now." |
