"The greetings cards range were developed using a partial sampling method. Real painted backgrounds were merged with the photographic images to create the source image for Studio Artist to work with. I then developed a series of painting and manipulation routines to simulate the painting techniques used in oils, acrylics, etc. These paint sequences concentrated in the main on only small parts of the image - background, mid tones, foreground etc. which matches the way I paint in reality with the strokes and colour mixing appropriate to subject. This way, when the cards are printed onto high quality artist paper, it is virtually impossible to tell whether they have been hand painted. As I am sure you are aware, Studio Artist is the only application that gives the artist the complete control to create this painting environment!"
